Founded in 1955, Mount Kilimanjaro Plantation was one of Tanzania’s first large-scale single-origin coffee producers and remains family-owned, now spanning three generations of growers. Grown on the fertile southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, this farm benefits from volcanic soil, indigenous shade trees, and glacier-fed rivers, creating ideal conditions for exceptional coffee.
Today, MKE employs around 350 people, and the estate is committed not only to quality but also to community and sustainability—providing employees with medical care, insurance, retirement plans, HIV training/testing, and scholarships, while investing in local and large municipal projects. They uphold UTZ certification standards and continuously improve their agronomical practices.
This peaberry coffee is crisp & vibrant with stone fruit sweetness, tea-like body, and a bright clean cup with green apple, plum, and mulling spice notes.
