Meukat Komuditi - Sumatra Natural
This lot comes to us from Meukat Komuditi Gayo cooperative in Takengon, Central Aceh– the Highlands of Western Sumatra. Meukat Komuditi Gayo consists of a group of 450 farmers, with farms as small as 1/2 hectare, founded in 2017 to unite and advance specialty coffee production in the region.
The Mountains surrounding Lake Laut Tawar are known for their exceptional coffee-growing microclimate, and Sumatran coffee is known for its uniquely earthy, rustic, low-acidity cup character. This coffee is totally different, however. Being a seldom-seen natural processed Sumatran coffee, this coffee is truly unique in principle, and in the cup.
This coffee is bright, sweet, fruity, and a little funky with heavy tropical fruit and berry notes. We taste: watermelon, blackberry, papaya, and blueberry.
